jumping and dancing. our favorite. especially when we pull all the pillows from every room of the house and add all the cushions from every soft piece of furniture. at first i thought it might be a good idea to make a rule against doing this activity. i considered having the dancing and jumping maintained in some sort of order and sense of calm, but realized that this idea would be only for my own ease of cleanup and house preservation. and i know from experience that some of my best dance parties and evenings with friends required jumping on the couch with complete abandon, which made me re-think my rules and ideas for the girls. as long as they are safe, and not about to hurt themselves or another child, they can continue to jump, dance, play, and seek any other form of creative exploration and expression they need. they also get gentle guidance and suggestions if i think something will be damaged beyond repair. other than that, they are free to go crazy. and they certainly do. we spend our days dancing with joy.

This is pure joy and abandon personified. I love watching Wren keeping up with the bigger kids, bouncing and clapping. Thanks for letting the kids tear the place apart in the name of happiness.
