tuesday.

olive was asking yesterday, again and again, to "make cookies". not sure what triggered this idea in her mind, but she was relentless. if you know olive, you know exactly what i mean. if you don't know her, relentless is the best word i have to describe it. it is a quiet, sweet, persistence. she probably said "make cookies" 200 times to me. after looking through my pantry, and surveying the mess of dishes in my kitchen, not to mention the time frame we were working with, i just couldn't see that baking was going to fit into our morning. however, there is a great harvest bakery just 2 blocks from our house, so i was able to redirect her idea into a walk to the bakery to buy cookies.

i love this picture of the three of them on the porch. and i can't wait to see a similar photo at the end of the summer to see all the big changes that happen...

we didn't end up with cookies, but with a cinnamon apple bread. here are the girls having a snack time with bread and butter in the tent.

I think the trigger for the cookie making was reading this very blog and watching the video of Luna and Olive being "mixers". She looked at the pictures and watched the video about 20 times the night before this!
Love your description of Olive's persistence - you know her well!
